E. Jean Carroll

In addition to her original contribution each month to Heartalytics, E. Jean writes the Ask E. Jean column in Elle magazine.

E. Jean’s is the longest, currently-running advice column in American publishing, with six million devoted readers. E. Jean was previously a writer for Saturday Night Live and contributing editor to Esquire, Outside, and Playboy magazines. Her TV show on MSNBC was called—what else?—”Ask E. Jean.”

She founded, with her sister, Cande Carroll, the breakthrough dating site, GreatBoyfriends.com (where women recommend their ex-boyfriends to each other) which was profiled in The New York Times, Newsweek, Men’s Health, etc., and seen on The Today Show, Oprah, CNN, etc.

After two glasses of wine, E. Jean calculates her matchmaking prowess thus:

To those coupled through the influence of her book, Mr. Right, Right Now; add those via her coaching site, Dating: E. Jean (link); her YouTube (link) Channel and all those couples matched under her guidance at Tawkfy, and E. Jean figures she’s helped more people find enticing mates than any advice columnist in history.

A taste of vintage E. Jean:

“A couple must agree on the following topics: 1) Do they want kids? 2) Do they want a dog? 3) Do they want sex? 4) Do they want sleep? (If they answer yes to 3 and 4, then they must answer no to 1.) And finally, 5) Who mixes the cocktails before they both don the sexy rubber gloves and clean the toilet?”
