What Is Agape Match?

Agape Match is a boutique service based in New York City that offers executive matchmaking for busy professionals, in addition to other dating services, like group coaching, dating assessments, and a Dating Refresh Program, which involves online dating assistance and a professional photo shoot. It only offers active matchmaking for male clients; female clients can simply apply to be part of Agape Match’s database for free.

According to the website, founder and CEO Maria Avgitidis and her team tap into generations of matchmaking experience, paired with an understanding of relationship psychology, to create what the company calls its “360-degree approach.” Matchmakers take into account the client’s lifestyle, preferences, family background, values, and more to find a compatible future partner.

Many of the reviews are from women sharing their positive experiences with Agape Intensive, the company’s virtual group coaching program aimed to help attendees improve their dating experiences and learn more about their dating behaviors. Other reviews from women mention the intentional, in-person meetings that led to great dates with paying male clients. Male reviewers rave about the Dating Assessment with Louis Felix, an Agape Match matchmaker and the company’s chief operating officer, and share positive experiences with the matchmaking service overall.

Agape Match Reviews on Glassdoor

Glassdoor does not yet have any Agape Match reviews, likely due to the small team of employees and matchmakers at the company.

Does Agape Match Have Any Complaints or Lawsuits?

After searching for complaints through the Better Business Bureau and lawsuits through New York State’s Unified Court System, we didn’t find any complaints about or lawsuits against Agape Match.

So is Agape Match Legit or a Scam?

It’s reasonable to wonder if Agape Match is legit or a scam. After learning more about the company and what it offers, as well as reading glowing reviews, it seems that Agape Match is legit, offering services that enlighten clients in their dating journeys and help them find compatible partners.

How does Agape Match Work?

Here’s how Agape Match works for male clients:

  1. First, you’ll fill out a profile online, sharing basic information about yourself as well as details about the type of person you’re looking for.
  2. Then, there will be an in-person consultation with someone from the Agape Match team to learn more about you and your relationship needs and determine if they can help you find a match.
  3. You’ll select a matchmaking package (it seems like most clients choose a six-month package), and your matchmaker will start recruiting potential matches based on your profile and criteria.
  4. Finally, your Agape Match matchmaker will set up a date with a selected match based on your preferences after which you can provide feedback to help inform the recruitment process.

Female members of the company’s database won’t go through the same process, as their experience is passive. If an Agape Match matchmaker thinks you’ll be a good match with one of their male clients, they will request an in-person consultation, then potentially set up a date with the match from there.

Does Agape Match Only Operate in NYC?

Although most of Agape Match clients are in NYC and the larger metro area, the company does accept clients across the country. However, given that most of their consultations and planned dates are conducted in person, it’s probably helpful if clients and members of its database live in the New York City area.

What Is the 12 Date Rule on Agape Match?

The “12 Date Rule” is a method that Agape Match, and specifically founder Maria Avgitidis, encourage their clients, members, and social media followers to try. The website notes that this “approach empowers singles to foster meaningful connections by prioritizing emotional compatibility over physical attraction”—in other words, discovering if they’re emotionally compatible before having sex.

For those who “enroll” in the 12 Date Rule, one date is equal to a minimum of 20 minutes or up to 3 hours, singles can have up to two dates a day with the same person (for example, an extra-long date), and, of the 12 dates, three have to be in person.

How Much Does Agape Match Cost?

Agape Match’s website does not include any pricing information, but according to one of its blog articles from 2016, a consultation costs $250 and is applied to the cost of the client’s matchmaking package (note that the price may have changed since then). Sources online note that prices for a six-month matchmaking package are anywhere from $18,000 to $100,000.

And remember that women interested in becoming part of Agape Match’s database can apply and join for free.

Is Agape Match Worth the Money?

Agape Match may be worth the money for male clients looking for dedicated matchmaking services in the New York City area. It seems that the company’s matchmaking packages are quite expensive; however, the Agape Match team is small, and they only take on so many clients at a time, meaning that clients probably receive a high level of dedication to their matchmaking journey.

What Is Agape Match’s Success Rate?

Agape Match claims a 93% success rate, but it’s unclear what its definition of “success” is (for example, compatible matches, whether a match turns into a relationship, and so on).

The Takeaway

Agape Match seems like a great option for high-earning NYC-based singles looking for romantic companionship. But what if you live outside of the New York City area or need a less expensive matchmaking service?
